A built-in auto-calibration function on the iPhone/iPod will adjust the size of the Snellen Chart (and brightness) to produce accurate and reproducible results.

The iPad chart is fully functional, but the best way to use the app is with the iPhone/iPod remote (this requires an in-app purchase for full functionality).

An auto-dim function (criticised by one reviewer) is set to time the screen out at ② minute to prevent the iPad battery from being depleted (this is now user adjustable).

Tested with all iPad versions (maximal chart distance ⑦.④m/②④ft), and with the iPad mini (maximal chart distance ⑥m/②⓪ft). Tested with all current iPods with a built-in camera and iPhones except the iPhone ③.
